I am pleased to have five paintings included as part of the 38th edition of the annual Small is Beautiful exhibition at Flowers Gallery, London. Due to Covid 19 this will take place online. 28 November 2020 - 10 January 2021.

’Small is beautiful’ was first established at Flowers Gallery in 1974, inviting selected contemporary artists working in any media to present works with a fixed economy of scale, each piece measuring no more than 7 x 9 inches, offering a rare opportunity to purchase smaller pieces by internationally recognised names and discover new talents.

"I do, I undo, I redo”, Nicola Hicks

oil on canvas

170cm x 180cm (each canvas 170cm x 60cm)

Absolutely delighted to announce that Jamie's painting of his good friend, the renowned British sculptor Nicola Hicks, has been selected for the BP Portrait Award 2020 at the National Portrait Gallery, London.

"I do, I undo, I redo”, Nicola Hicks, depicts Nicola in her studio. The title references the work of Louise Bourgeois, but equally it encapsulates Nicola’s creative process. Sittings took place at both Nicola’s and Jamie’s London studios between December 2018 and November 2019.

Jamie's painting "Man holding a Netsuke" has been selected from almost 2,500 entries for the Royal Portrait Society's Annual Exhibition 2020.

This year about half of the work will be by eminent Members of the Society and half by emerging artists selected through the open submission.

With some 200 portraits on show this is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of recent portraits in the country.

This year’s exhibition was due to be on display at Mall Galleries, central London, between 7 to 22 May 2020. Unfortunately due to the current COVID 19 pandemic the physical exhibition cannot take place in the Galleries as scheduled. The RP is concentrating its efforts on displaying the exhibition online, front and centre on there website. Please see link to below.

The hope is that the physical exhibition will take place at a later date.
